Explore Sydney & Beyond

Sunny, sexy and sophisticated, Sydney is the shining star of the southern hemisphere. The white-sailed Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are Australia’s pride and joy, but there’s far more on offer. Explore Sydney Harbour, the city’s historic enclaves, restaurants and cafes, beaches, museums and art galleries, and the national parks and wildlife within the city and on its fringes.

A free-spirited and vibrant city, Sydney is built around one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, with more than 70 sparkling beaches in easy reach of its cosmopolitan heart.  Most visitors start off exploring the Rocks, the harbourside site where Sydney began. Today, it’s an area of narrow lanes, boutiques, historic cottages, top hotels and restaurants, historic pubs and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.  Nearby is Circular Quay, where you can take a ferry ride to Manly Beach, Taronga Zoo or dozens of other destinations.  Another area not to be missed is the entertainment centre of Darling Harbour, home to Sydney Wildlife World, Sydney Aquarium and many fine museums, eateries, pubs and clubs.

Less than two hours by car or train west of Sydney, the Blue Mountains National Park is a World Heritage-listed site - a spectacular area of dramatic canyons and caves, sheer-cliffed valleys, pretty stone and timber towns, and world-class guesthouses.

The Hunter Valley conjures up images of lazy days, fine-wine tasting at over 120 cellar doors, romantic retreats, quality eateries and gorgeous farming country. Add on a dolphin- or whale-spotting cruise at nearby Port Stephens and you have a trip to remember.

Byron Bay and Tropical New South Wales is an area of natural wonderland on the most northern stretch of coast in New South Wales. Its beauty lies in its unspoilt beaches, volcanic mountains, lush countryside and World Heritage listed national parks. In all, it’s a laid-back but adventurous paradise offering world class resorts, outdoor markets and unique restaurants and cafes.

With pristine beaches and historic coastal towns, Sydney’s South Coast drive includes some truly unique experiences, like the new scenic Sea Cliff Bridge, rolling hills of Kangaroo Valley, kangaroos in the wild at Pebbly Beach and quaint guesthouses, hotels and resorts along the way.
