• Great gay venues include Homesexual once a month at Home at Darling Harbour, monthly ‘Queer Central’ nights at the Sly Fox in Enmore, and numerous choices on Oxford Street, including The Columbian.
• Visit fantasy rooms. There's Swarovski crystal curtains and hidden corners at the Water Bar in Woolloomooloo, Moroccan-inspired décor at Hemmesphere, Gallic grace at Apertif, and antique furniture and silk-tented ceilings at De Nom, cascading chandeliers and walls of gold at Ruby Rabbit.
• Sydney’s live music scene is alive and kicking. Jazz and blues dominate in the cosy Vanguard and Basement .
